Identify the power of Social Media Optimization

Talk about social media; what comes to our mind are some common social networking websites like Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Orkut, Linkedin, and more. Social media allows people to discover, watch and share originally-created videos or forums for people to connect, inform, and inspire others across the globe. It acts as a distribution platform for original content creators and advertisers with other people.
In this revolutionary era, facilities have increased considerably, thereby reducing barriers. Needless to say, we are in the middle of a trend, where people are looking for social connections more than anything else. It wouldn’t be wrong to give full credit to Facebook, which was the most visited social networking site last year.
Social Media Optimization (SMO) increases website traffic.
Social media optimization, or SMO, is about more than connecting with others on a social level. Sure, that’s important, but it isn’t the whole story. What SMO is really all about is getting the attention of people you would like to do business with. Strategy is very important.
At the heart of every effective social media campaign is an honest portrayal of who you are and what you have to offer potential prospects. Remember, you are drawing people towards you, not pushing your product on them. That is, you are engaged in “pull” marketing, not “push” marketing. Television is push, social media is pull.

Pull marketing is much more subtle than push marketing. Therefore, social media optimization is about subtlety. The idea is to  capture  people’s attention.

Finally, SMO is usually associated with viral marketing, in which word of mouth is achieved not through family or friends but through a constant online presence on social bookmarking, social networking, social media, photo and video-sharing sites. Do it appropriately; connect with the right audience at the right place at the right time. It would definitely be in your favor.
